When Are Tax Cut Checks Being Mailed ?
Are you one of those people waiting for a check in the mail as tax refund? You should know that there are other ways in which your refund may come. The checks that were mailed so far were based on the 2007 tax returns that were filed. |

Rebates were in the amount of $300 for people who earned $75,000 per annum. In case of joint income of about $150,000, the refund was $600. Also, if the income status has changed due to a job loss or a pay cut and if it is less than the above mentioned figures, then individuals could qualify for $600 and joint income could be $1200. This also applies to birth of babies, adoption by grandparents and so on.
If nothing has changed from the tax year of 2007 to 2008, then you might end up getting the same amount of refund.
In case you do not qualify for a rebate, then do not expect a check in the mail. Exactly when one is going to receive the check depends on the IRS. You can check on the IRS website if you are eligible. If you have filed your tax returns, then you can check if something has been mentioned in the returns. In order to receive the tax cut check, you should file your returns for the current fiscal year. In case you received less return the previous year, you can still demand it in the current year. Read the IRS website for further information.
