Along with retirement, also comes severe budgeting and living on minimum resources. Many people think about investing their retirement income in a home. However, before doing that research thoroughly how the investment in a home would affect you income tax wise. Some places in the United States are very tax-friendly. They do not have any type of taxes on retirement income.


Federal taxes are the same throughout the United States. However, it is the state taxes that burden people. You will be shocked to know the differences between the 50 States. Some States are way more expensive than the others.

There are seven states in America that do not have any State income tax and they are Nevada, South Dakota, Wyoming, Washington, Texas, Florida and Alaska. These states are very retirement friendly and you can save more if you move to any of these places.

However, it is not possible for all retirees to move to these 7 states and such advice would seem abnormal. After retirement, you have to plan your investments carefully in order to minimize the taxes. Move to a local community where the city taxes are less. Make use of all benefits given to senior citizens, if you are above 60.

Some states also treat pension differently. There 10 states that exclude many taxes like federal and state from pensions. They are Alabama, Illinois, Hawaii, Kansas, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New York, Michigan, Louisiana and Mississippi. There are many retirement friendly places in the United States. You can look them up on the internet.
